Oxidation is a natural process of metals due to the presence of oxygen in the air and to the pH of one's own skin. To slow down the loss of brilliance of your jewel, follow these guidelines:
1- Put your jewelry in a box every night, away from sources of light and heat.
2- Do not wear jewelry immediately after applying creams or perfumes to your skin.
3- Avoid sulphurous water for silver and sea water for brass or bronze; gold does not require special care due to its natural resistance to atmospheric agents.
4- Remove the opacities of the metal by rubbing it with a soft and clean cloth. If your piece of jewelry is in silver and gets a bit dark you can wash it with a soft brush, hot water and bicarbonate.
