Chiara was born in Rome in 1986. She graduated in Industrial Design at the University of Architecture Ludovico Quaroni and specialized in goldsmithing at Alchimia, school of contemporary jewelry in Florence. She moved to Berlin to work for the brand UncommonMatters, then back in Rome, she founded studio CLAB, a container of multidisciplinary ideas and craft knowledge. There she started to teach design methods and goldsmithing techniques. As a teacher she worked for schools and organizations in Italy and abroad. She lives and works in Rome.
Chiara Cavallo's work concerns the interaction between human and objects. She wants people to feel at ease, to recognize themselves in her jewels and to be happy to wear them in everyday life.
Thanks to her studies in Industrial Design and then in Contemporary Jewellery, Chiara combines artistic research with craft techniques, trying to put something human into everything she creates.
In her jewelry Chiara expresses the way she observes the world, creating simple shapes that express universal concepts.
Her shapes are primordial, light and ergonomic and highlight matter and surfaces in an essential way. The creative process follows a natural and narrative rhythm: waiting, growth and evolution. Her research is in fact a combination of inner expression with new life experiences.
Each with its own story gives life and movement to the jewels Chiara creates.
